Capital Campaigns
In 2006, Divine Mercy Catholic Church and School launched the New Beginnings Capital Campaign with a goal to complete the master plan of $25,000,000. The generousity of our community was inspiring as we raised in excess of $7,000,000; one of the largest capital campaigns in the history of the Archdiocese t that time. Upon receiving the capital campaign results and months of study and financial analysis, the parish and school leadership made the decision to phase the master plan and begin with the church and gathering sapce as the first phase. Final design was completed on phase one and construction costs were estimated. The estimated project cost for Phase One was $12,000,000. The competitive bdding process and project scope reductions reflected in a total project cost of $10,875,000.
In July 2009, Divine Mercy launched the Continuing our Journey Capital Campaign to retire the outstanding debt from Phase One of $3,700,000 and if sufficient monies were raised, continue the next phases of the master plan. The proposed phase two of the building project was the construction of the social hall, which would be a multi-purposes space to be utilized also as a gymnasium for the school, as well as the shell spaces for the administration wing and the kitchen. The Continuing our Journey Capital Campaign raised $2.4 million towards the goal of debt retirement.
