Liaison/Translator Job Description

Description

The
Hispanic Liaison/Translator translates forms and documents from English to
Spanish and assists in communicating information to the Hispanic Community.  He/She assists the Volunteer Coordinator in
connecting with the DMCC Hispanic community with information, schedules,
reports, etc.

Duration
of the build schedule for construction skill.
It is anticipated that the need for a specific Safety Trainer will be
early in the process of construction when there will be many volunteers
reporting that will not have had the training.
When most volunteers have been safety trained the Site Host may assume
the responsibility of training the few volunteers not trained.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Translates English documents to Spanish.
  2. Assists
    in communicating such documents to Hispanic community;
  3. Needs
    to have computer skills with Word, Excel, email, Internet.
  4. Assists
    Volunteer Coordinator with coordinating the volunteer program

 

Hispanic Liaison –
Construction Site

Description

The Hispanic Site Liaison assists the Site Host and
Construction Crew Leader in translating instructions to Hispanic volunteers who
do not understand English and assisting in signing in of volunteers.

Responsibilities

  1. Assists Site Host and/or Safety Trainer in Safety
    Training and having volunteer sign in at beginning of work session.
  2. Assists Crew Leader and Construction Coordinator in
    relaying instructions during the day.
    Assists in supervising safety for the Hispanic volunteers.
